Corporate Responsibility

Corporate Responsibility

Respect for social and environmental issues is a key component of our corporate philosophy.  All business goals set by LABYES are based on this premise, since we believe that no efficient and sustainable performance will be achieved unless a great deal of responsibility is exercised.

In recognition of our firm’s commitment to its environment, the Moron Municipality (Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina), where our production plant is located, jointly with the Buenos Aires Entrepreneur Development Institute (IDEB), has awarded our firm, in 2010, a prize on the adoption of Good Corporate Social Responsibility Practices.

This prize is publicly awarded each year to companies that show an innovative, creative and exemplary CSR performance.  This distinction is designed to encourage other companies to adopt CSR practices as a social, economic and environmental contribution to the district of Moron.

Commitment to the Environment

Because we, at Labyes, understand the importance of caring for the environment and our neighbors, we have adopted, certified and currently maintain an Environmental Management System according to ISO 14000 standard, in an effort to preserve the home that future generations will inherit.

The adoption of these environmental management standards includes, among other aspects, enhancing water utilization in our production processes and recycling of other supplies such as paper, cardboard and plastics.  Said recycling is carried out at the facilities of entities knowledgeable in sorting and processing said materials.

Our environmental management system comprises various indicators that are continuously monitored to assure compliance with the quality and environmental objectives we pursue.  For example, in 2010, we were able to achieve electricity savings of more than 8% and water savings of more than 6%, as compared to the previous year.

Commitment to our people

Labyes has an annual training plan in place, which has been designed on the basis of both the individual concerns and needs of our employees, and the skills they require to perform the duties entrusted to them.  Our personnel receives training at public and private institutions, colleges and universities, on both social and technical issues.

Said training plan is expected to become increasingly more comprehensive every year, as reflected in the 27% increase in training hours in 2010 as compared to the previous year.  The implementation of this training program translates into growth of our people and, consequently, of our firm.
